SuperClean® 3 - The 3rd Generation of Powder Metallurgy Tool Steel
- Fewer non-metallic inclusions produce even cleaner powder tool steel
- Smaller grain-size and carbides produces a finer powder tool steel (a more homogenous powder tool steel)

- SuperClean 3 Overview

Compared to conventional tool steels this unique SuperClean® 3 process achieves better overall tooling economy through better machinability, better dimensional stability during heat treatment, longer tool life and less maintenance. The performance in operation gives less tool wear and tooling problems improving tool life. This will reduce the need for maintenance and increase the availability in production. The quality of the manufactured parts will be improved and delivery service maintained by the tool user.

Bohler-Uddeholm’s new comprehensive line of P/M products includes VANADIS 4® which gives tool users longer tool life, less tooling maintenance and better product quality due to good wear resistance. Combined with a very good chipping/cracking resistance VANADIS 6® offers a unique balance of high strength and very good abrasive and adhesive wear resistance. VANADIS 10® provides much better abrasive wear resistance than conventional, P/M and high speed steels.

The unique SuperClean 3 process and Vanadis® grades were developed and are produced by Uddeholm Tooling in Hagfors, Sweden. Available exclusively in North America from Bohler-Uddeholm North America!
