Plastic Molding

Blow Molding
Blow molding is a very high productivity method where cycle times are of great importance. It is a low-pressure method where strength and wear demands are very moderate but corrosion resistance and heat conductivity are important. Inserts of or (copper alloy) are a good combination for blow molds.

Compression Molding
The technique is often used for molding of glass fiber reinforced parts and high pressure is often used. Wear resistance, strength and hardness are required from the mold material.

Injection Molding
Depending on number of shots, plastic material used, size of the mould and needed surface finish, different mould materials can be used. The following basic mould material properties must be considered: strength and hardness, toughness, wear resistance, cleanliness, corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity.
