COAST-TO-COAST
Bohler-Uddeholm’s first operation in North America was established in 1925, based on the foundation that first class tool steel only goes part of the way toward providing an optimum solution to a tool user. Through liaison with toolmakers, tool users and product designers we develop complete solutions for optimal economy. The supply of the tooling material is vital.
Our Steel Service Centers and Steel Stores carry extensive stocks of tooling materials. They are strategically located allowing us to provide fast and dependable service anywhere in the United States and Canada. These Service Centers are supported by a highly-trained technical sales force and by local and international metallurgical support staffs.

CAPABILITIES
Our main manufacturing mills in Hagfors, Sweden and Kapfenberg, Austria have been world-renowned for their innovation for well over 300 years. The first recorded sale to the North American market dates back to the early 1800’s.
Today, Bohler-Uddeholm continues to play the role of innovator within the Tooling Industry. Aggressive capital investment, product development and process development plans ensure that we will maintain this role well into the future. In the North American market, continuous improvement is our goal when it comes to our product line, our service capabilities, and our capacity to offer technical support to our customers. A domestic inventory exceeding 30 million pounds is processed by our arsenal of Saws, Blanchard grinders, Mattisson grinders and Milling machines, located in over 20 facilities, offering the ultimate in service and performance to our Tooling Partners.

In order to keep up with the constant demand for improved materials, Bohler-Uddeholm maintains a close intensive cooperation with universities and research centers and supports the exchange of information at all levels.
The knowledge of our technical experts who are engaged in fundamental research ultimately results in superior value to our customers. Our research activities yield the most modern high performance Tool Steels and High Speed Steels produced by means of Powder Metallurgy production techniques, Aluminum-Alloyed Tool Steels, Nitrogen Alloyed Electro-Slag Remelted (ESR) and Vacuum Remelted (VMR) Tool Steels and special products.
