M261 EXTRA

BOHLER M261 is a precipitation hardened free machining mold steel. BOHLER M261 is supplied in the pre-hardened (aged) condition to a Rockwell hardness of 38-42 HRC.

BOHLER M261 is ideal for molding applications requiring a combination of high hardness and ease of machinability such as rubber molding and compression molding. BOHLER M261 is also an upgrade for tool holder applications requiring higher hardness such as cutting tool bodies.

Although easy to polish, high surface finishes should be avoided.
