BOHLER W303 ISODISC®
This grade is a conventionally melted, hot work tool steel, with very good hot tensile properties, good toughness, and good heat checking characteristics. It is typically used in the processing of light metal alloys, and can be used in a water cooled environment. It achieves hardnesses up to 52 HRC.
Applications where W303 ISODISC is used include highly stressed hot work tools, such as mandrels, dies and containers for metal tube and rod extrusion; hot extrusion tools; tools for the manufacture of hollows: tools for the manufacture of screws, nuts, rivets and bolts; forging dies and punches; forming dies; or hot shear blades.
